Resident survey of Flexens Oy Ab and Kokkolan Energiaverkot Oy open until 2.10.2024

Flexens is planning a 350 megawatt hydrogen production plant for the Kokkola KIP large industrial area. Hydrogen is further refined into green ammonia. Ammonia is used above all in the fertilizer industry and later to an increased extent also as fuel for sea transport. The production of green hydrogen and green ammonia is planned to start at the end of 2028.

The project includes a separate 400 kV or 400+110 kV power line approximately 8 kilometers long, which runs from Fingrid Oyj's Hirvisuo substation to KIP's industrial area. The power management is intended to serve other operators in the KIP region as well. Kokkolan Energiaverkot Oy is responsible for this part of the project.
